Quality Policy for undergraduate studies of the Department of Digital Industry Technologies
The Department of Digital Industry Technologies (DIT), as an academic unit of the University of Athens, has main objectives to produce and transmit knowledge through research, teaching and to contribute to the formation of responsible people with scientific, social, cultural and political awareness. It also aims to provide the necessary skills that will ensure the excellent training of its students for scientific and professional careers through appropriately designed undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, which cover in terms of scientific specialisation and interdisciplinarity the broad field of Digital Industry Technologies.
In particular, DIT is committed to the implementation of a quality assurance policy that follows the principles and procedures established by the National University of Athens (EKPA) regarding the Internal Quality Assurance System (EQAS) by A.A. 586/1-2-2018 (Government Gazette 256/2018, vol. The aim of the Quality Assurance Policy of TTPSSB is to achieve high quality in the operation of the Department and the continuous improvement of its educational and research work, in accordance with international academic practices, especially those of the European Higher Education Area, and the principles and guidelines of the HEAE. The quality assurance policy of the TTPSSB is part of its strategy and includes and commits all its stakeholders (teaching, administrative and technical staff, students).
Specifically, DIT is committed to ensuring the high level of the curriculum, aiming at the scientific formation and professional specialization of its graduates in the field of Digital Industry Technologies.
The Department of Digital Industry Technologies applies in its operation the principles of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens on issues such as gender equality, non-discrimination, academic ethics.
In order to serve the above strategic objectives, the Department is committed to implementing quality procedures that ensure:
- 1. safeguarding academic principles, academic and scientific freedom, ethics and the prevention of discrimination
- 2. development of a creative research and working environment and the creation of a culture of continuous improvement for its academic, research and administrative staff and students
- 3. adequacy and rational allocation of human resources and laboratory and technological infrastructure in order to ensure the continuous qualitative and efficient support of academic operation and everyday educational life
- 4. formulation and continuous renewal of the curriculum, so that its structure and content correspond to international scientific developments in the field of Digital Industry Technologies,
- 5. organisation of its educational objectives, the intended learning outcomes and the qualifications it cultivates in its graduates in accordance with the European and National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education,
- 6. promoting the quality and effectiveness of teaching through procedures involving all stakeholders in the educational process,
- 7. suitability and control of the qualifications of its teaching staff in accordance with the applicable legislation and academic ethics,
- 8. promotion of the research work of all those who make up the academic unit of DIT (teaching staff and students),
- 9. promotion of the link between teaching and research through the operation of workshops that support and feed teaching, as well as the continuous reinforcement and renewal of the curriculum modules that contribute to the development of students' research skills,
- 10. high level of qualifications acquired by graduates based on academic criteria and the demand in the ever-changing labour market,
- 11. quality of its administrative and laboratory services, as well as its student support services,
- 12. conducting the annual review and internal supervision of the quality assurance system of the curriculum, as well as the systematic cooperation of the OMEA with the Quality Assurance Unit of the UoA,
- 13. communication with all stakeholders (students, academic staff, administrative and technical staff, alumni, partner institutions) and the dissemination of the objectives and quality policy of DIT.
